Ask Vim Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: August 23, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Ask Vim website and chat assistant (the "Service"), operated by Ask Vim LLC, a California limited liability company ("Ask Vim," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of the Service

Ask Vim is an informational tool that provides general information about certain public health and social services programs, currently limited to Medicaid, Medi-Cal, Medicare, and local county health services programs (i.e. Alignment Healthcare in Santa Clara County, CA). Ask Vim answers questions using a curated library of official documents. Ask Vim is not:

A caseworker, benefits counselor, or government agency.
A source of legal, medical, or financial advice.
Able to access, view, or modify your individual case, account, or benefits status.
Able to determine whether you personally qualify for any program.
A substitute for contacting the relevant county, state, or federal agency directly.

If Ask Vim does not have verified information to answer your question, it will tell you so and direct you to the appropriate contact instead of guessing.

2. No Government Endorsement Implied

Ask Vim is not a government agency and, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, its inclusion of information about county or state programs does not mean those programs or agencies endorse, sponsor, or are affiliated with Ask Vim, our advertisers, or our sponsors.

3. Eligibility to Use the Service

The Service is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 18, you should use the Service only with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or caregiver familiar with these Terms.

4. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

Enter personal identifying information, such as case numbers, Social Security numbers, or account credentials, into the Service.
Use the Service to attempt to obtain legal, medical, or individualized eligibility advice.
Misrepresent your identity or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or reverse engineer the Service.

5. Advertising and Sponsored Content

The Service may display advertising served through Google AdSense and directly sponsored content from third parties, including health plans and foundations. All sponsored content will be clearly labeled as such and visually distinct from the assistant's answers. Advertisers and sponsors are solely responsible for the content and accuracy of their own advertisements. Ask Vim does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the products, services, or claims of any advertiser or sponsor, and the presence of an advertisement does not affect or influence the answers generated by the Ask Vim assistant, which are drawn solely from our validated document library.

6. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." While Ask Vim is built to answer questions accurately from verified sources, we do not warrant that the Service will be error free, uninterrupted, or that any particular answer is complete, current, or applicable to your individual circumstances. You should independently verify any information that affects a benefits, health, or legal decision by contacting the relevant agency directly.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ask Vim and its officers, members, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including any decision made in reliance on information provided by the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service will not exceed $100.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ask Vim from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and technology comprising the Service, other than third party advertising content and the underlying government source documents, is owned by Ask Vim LLC or its licensors and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without permission.

10. Third Party Links

The Service may link to third party websites, including government agency sites and advertiser sites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any linked site.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including suspected misuse.

12. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
